Tortuguero

After Bocas Del Torro we headed to Tortuguero where we took a hour ride down a bumpy dirt road where we parked our car and took an hour and a half boat ride through some canals that took us to Tortueguro which was out in the middle of now where. In the morning you could here the jungle!!! The howler monkeys were so loud!!

Here is Aaron carrying our luggage through the village. As you can see there was not paved walkways so you had to carry your luggage unless you wanted to drag it through the mud!!

On the dirt road we saw the Del Monte plant and Chiquita bananas was down the way. There were tons and tons of banana trees and they put blue bags over the bananas to keep out the bugs. If you look closely you will see a cable where they hook up the banana bunches and move down the cable to the plant. When we drove by there was a guy that had hooked himself up and was catching a ride to the plant.
